About Me
Ever since the days of the original Duke Nukem, I have been fascinated with computer and video games, and
occasionally enjoyed creating my own gaming experiences, be it on a much smaller scale. Having discovered
Crytek's CryENGINE in my mid teens, I began to experiment with the theory behind the design of levels and
familiarise myself with the tools used to create them.
Upon the release of Sandbox2, the level editing tool bundled with the release of Crytek's blockbuster FPS
title Crysis (powered by CryENGINE2),
my interest in design turned from hobby to passion as I set to work creating dozens of small levels to experiment
with everything from AI navigation to photorealistic temperate environments.
Using Crymod, the informative and community
driven official modding portal from Crytek, I gained large amounts of knowledge with community and developer support
alike. With the aim to return the favours given by the forums, I set about posting to help others with their level
design issues and queries, creating tutorials,
and eventually making my way on to the Crymod staff
team to aid the community further by developing the modding portal's community driven knowledge base,
the CryWiki.
A year (and over 300 news posts later),
I had moved up the team hierarchy to become the CryWiki Lead and lead
moderator. During this time, my work ethic and quality stepped up a notch and I was outputting work ranging
from my own levels to scripted gameplay features (which can be found on my
portfolio pages),
and all the while contributing to the community and Crytek with regular help, news posts and moderation. I had also
joined various modifications; the horror FPS mod
28 Months Later
based on the cult film series, and the fantasy RPG mod Lightspire,
both of which I still contribute to. Recently, I was also employed remotely by Crytek as a Community Representative, bridging the gap between developer
and the commmunity by officially running Crymod and providing feedback to both
parties to improve the link between the community and Crytek. Hopefully, this site will give you a brief overview of the quality of my work,
and I hope to hear from you soon! If interested, my CV/resume can also be downloaded by clicking the link below.
